A slow-growing evergreen tree of humid tropical rainforests, naturally occupying the lower to mid-canopy during its juvenile years. It flourishes in consistently warm, humid environments, preferring filtered light when young and greater sun exposure as it matures.
Cultivation
Grow in deep, fertile, slightly acidic, well-drained soil with consistently high humidity and uniform moisture. Avoid drought, waterlogged soils, strong winds, and temperatures below tropical norms, as the species is exceptionally sensitive to environmental stress.
