A tall rainforest tree of the humid lowland forest canopy, naturally occurring in warm, ever-moist tropical habitats. Seedlings establish best beneath partial shade before gradually adapting to brighter canopy conditions.

Thrives in deep, fertile, well-drained soils with consistently high humidity, abundant rainfall, and year-round tropical warmth. Avoid drought, prolonged waterlogging, and exposure to cool temperatures or drying winds.
